Sebastian Giovinco to join Toronto FC preseason training

After weeks of speculation, Juventus team officials confirmed that Sebastian Giovinco is on his way to Toronto to join preseason training and will be available to start the season for the Reds.

Originially, Giovinco was to remain with Juventus until their season completed this summer and then join Toronto FC in July. However, the club terminated his contract and has allowed him to join TFC this week and start preparing for the season, which opens up against Montreal on March 7th against Montreal. Currently, TFC is training in Orlando, FL and will be there until the end of the week. They will then train in Toronto all of next week (February 9th through the 15th) and then head to Bradenton, FL for the IMG Suncoast Pro Classic. As of now, it sounds as if Giovinco will remain in Toronto until the team returns and then begin training with them next Monday.

"Sebastian Giovinco has today ended his time in Turin and completed a move to MLS Soccer side Toronto FC," a statement on the Juventus team website read. Juventus was able to re-sign Alessandro Matri on loan and thus pave the way for Giovinco's early exit.
