Daniel Lovitz reacquired from NYCFC
In a surprising turn of events, TFC has reacquired Daniel Lovitz in a trade from NYCFC after being selected by NYCFC in the Expansion Draft earlier today
At 2:13pm EST today, Daniel Lovitz was selected via the live broadcasted of 2014 Expansion Draft by NYCFC in the 4th round, 8th overall. Lovitz, who was the 24th overall pick in the 2014 SuperDraft by the Reds, appeared last year in 18 matches.
General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko said about the trade, "“Our goal was to come out of the expansion draft with our team intact. We did our homework and took measures to ensure that would happen prior to the draft. To that end, we accomplished what we set out to do, and now our full attention can set on improving the team for next season,” said Toronto FC General Manager Tim Bezbatchenko.
Lovitz was a 4-year player at Elon University where he took home the 2013 Southern Conference Player of the Year Award.
