Daniel Lovitz, the 2nd round pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft by TFC, was selected today in the 4th round (8th overall) by NYCFC in the Expansion Draft.
Lovitz, a graduate of Elon University, appeared in 18 matches last year for the Reds and recorded 2 assists. He was named the 2013 Southeastern Conference Player of the Year award while at Elon.
Lovitz played a supporting role off the bench in the left side of the midfield. He provided great vision and pace during the times he was called upon by Coach Nelsen and Vanney.
Mark Bloom was protected as a result of Lovitz's selection.
