Protection List ahead of Wednesday's Expansion Draft

TFC announced tonight their eleven alloted players that they are going to protect from the MLS Expansion Draft that takes place this coming Wednesday.
The eleven players that have been protected by the team are Michael Bradley, Joe Bendik, Jermain Defoe, Luke Moore, Gilberto, Jonathan Osorio, Nick Hagglund, Warren Creavalle, Justin Morrow, Kyle Bekker, and Collen Warner.

TFC also keeps all of its homegrown players, which include Jordan Hamilton, Manny Aparicio, Ashtone Morgan, Quillan Roberts, Chris Mannella, and Marco Delgaado.

Which means that the players left exposed and up to two can be selected Wednesday are as follows: Team Captain Steven Caldwell, Dom Oduro,  Jackson, Mark Bloom, Daniel Lovitz, and Chris Konopka.

Very surprising to see two names in particular up there that being Caldwell and Bloom. Caldwell, the 34-year old captain, has a chance to be chosen by either NYCFC or Orlando City come Wednesday. the problem, however, is who would want to absorb his 325k base contract is tricky. Caldwell was limited to 23 games last year due to a quad injury. The most surprising name is Mark Bloom. The 27-year old right back came on strong last year playing in 26 matches for the club. He originally joined the club on loan from the Atlanta Silverbacks, an NASL side. I'm thinking Bloom is most likely a goner. I would have much rather seen Bekker's name on this list instead of Bloom. maybe even Creavalle.

Make sure to follow along our live draft results right here come Wednesday night's 10 round Expansion draft.
